About

I’m running for re-election to the Jurupa Unified School District Board of Trustees – Area 1.

JUSD continues to face many challenges these days and my life experiences, whether professional, personal, or community oriented, provide a solid base for me to take on these challenges as your representative on the school board. Professionally, I lead project teams and manage customer relationships. Through this experience I’ve learned that working well in a team environment is important for success. Personally, my wife and I have raised three successful children in this district.  Partnerships with teachers and staff were the key to success. Lastly, community involvement in service groups has given me a unique perspective on the needs of our community’s children.

Here are my continued priorities

Four years ago, I promised to represent you, in decisions with the goal of benefiting all our students in Jurupa Valley.  My top priority, increasing graduation rates.  My own three children graduated within the district.  My goal is simple and accomplished in these steps.

  1. Communication:  Stakeholder communication and transparency
    • Board members are accessible to the public and communicate as a whole, by providing clearer direction to the district of doing business.
  2. Education:  Focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and Arts/Humanities
    •  STEAM programs have been implemented across the district and are a priority.  Jurupa Valley High School Innovation Center, Del Sol Academy, and Pacific Avenue Academy of Music, among others.
  3. Parent Involvement:  Involve parents early and build a lasting foundation
    • Parent Involvement and Community Outreach department created by offering more than a dozen programs through the district, giving parents the tools necessary for their students’ success.

Through these efforts, graduation rates have increased almost 20% in the past four years.  Students are more prepared for college/career and receiving a well-rounded education.

I would be honored to receive your vote, once again, to continue the important work of educating the leaders of tomorrow.

I’m here to serve

My involvement in the school district and community clearly demonstrates my commitment to our students’ success.
