Mark Takano and Robert Garcia

Endorsed by Mark Takano

I met Congressman Mark Takano about 7 years ago as he was getting ready to make his run for the newly formed CA-41st congressional district. In my many conversations with him regarding the issues facing our nation, I knew right away that our core philosophies and beliefs were in sync. Three of the top issues for me were…

  1. Protecting Social Security and Medicare – keeping our promise to our seniors
  2. Veterans Benefits and compensation – keeping our promise to those who made sacrifices for our freedoms
  3. Educating our youth – ensuring our youth have the same opportunities that we had growing up.

Congressman Takano recognized my personal commitment to the veterans of Jurupa through service in the VFW and Lions Club and appointed me to his Veterans’ Advisory Committee in 2013. I still serve today with members from across the 41st congressional district.

When I decided to announce my candidacy for the Jurupa Unified School Board, Congressman Takano didn’t hesitate to offer his support and endorsement.

“Robert Garcia has been a champion for Jurupa Valley through his many years of community service. He has been a constant advocate for children and their needs. His experience in the High-Tech Industry make him the perfect choice to prepare Jurupa’s students for the emerging technologies required of college and the workplace.” – Congressman Mark Takano – U.S. House of Representatives, CA-41.

How to help my campaign

Everyone has been asking me how they can help with my campaign. Well, there are many ways folks can help. Here are my seven points for endorsement of my campaign.
making-buttons

  1. Vote for me! And tell everyone you know to vote for me!
  2. Take a button and wear it everywhere you go in Jurupa Valley.
  3. Take a yard sign.
  4. Endorse me and give me permission to use your name.
  5. Provide me with a quote that I can use.
  6. Host a meet and greet at your home or a clubhouse.
  7. Provide me with a financial contribution. No amount is too small or too large. Unfortunately campaigns cost money, especially when running against an Incumbent.

If you decide to contribute, make checks payable to:
Robert Garcia for Jurupa School Board Trustee Area 1 – 2018.

Then mail them to:
Robert Garcia, 8524 Wild Pony Drive, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509

I’ll be out and about in the community from now until election time asking for your help and support. Please don’t hesitate to bring me any questions or concerns. After all I’m running to be YOUR representative on the Jurupa School Board.  And to continue the great work we’ve accomplished in the past 4 years.  The people need a voice. I will continue to be that voice!

Meet Robert Garcia

Hello! I’m Robert Garcia. I’m running for re-election to the Jurupa Unified School District Board of Trustees – Area 1

My wife Carolyn and I have raised three children in Jurupa Schools. All are products of the Jurupa School system.  Two have graduated from college and are off to a great start to their careers, and our youngest is currently attending college.  Jurupa schools have been good to us.  We’ve made long lasting relationships with teachers and staff along the way these past 18 years. So when the opportunity to run for the school board 4 years ago presented itself, I thought this was a great way to give back to a district that has given us so much. I didn’t take this decision lightly, I understand that in order to be successful on the school board you must be willing to work with the other board members and the administration to move our schools forward. I’ve learned this is key to success from my many years in my professional career as technical manager and my many years in service to the community with local civic groups.

In my 4 years on the school board in Jurupa, I’ve brought leadership to the district.  JUSD has increased graduation rate almost 20% in the past 4 years, tripled it’s CTE programs in the past 2 years, and launched a new marketing strategy called “Learning without Limits” which has already brought JUSD increased enrollment in the last 12+ years to the tune of 500+ students.

I launched this website built by a Graphic Advantage! so that I can share with you my message, my philosophy, and my plans to help continue to move Jurupa Unified School District forward. Take a look around and if there are any unanswered questions please feel free to contact me.
